Bridget Keenan, MD, PhD Joins Faculty
Bridget Keenan, MD, PhD is joining the faculty as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at UCSF. Dr. Keenan completed her BS in Biology and Chemistry at Loyola University of Maryland. During the early years of her research career, she trained in laboratories at Loyola, the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and the National Institutes of Health. She obtained her PhD in Immunology as part of the Johns Hopkins Medical Scientist Training Program in the lab of Dr. Elizabeth Jaffee, investigating the mechanisms of a vaccine targeting Kras in pancreatic cancer mouse models. She completed both her Internal Medicine residency and Hematology/Oncology fellowship at UCSF. During her fellowship, she worked in the lab of Dr. Larry Fong, studying mechanisms of immunotherapy response and resistance in gastrointestinal cancers. Clinically, she trained in both early phase immunotherapy trials and gastrointestinal malignancies during fellowship.
